A Fort Gibson man faces an embezzlement charge in Cherokee County District Court.
Anthony Tackett, 23, was charged with a felony count for allegedly failing to return an ROTC uniform and associated equipment valued at $800 to NSU.
Charges were filed after NSU Police Capt. Patti Buhl submitted a report to prosecutors. Buhl’s report states she spoke with Staff Sgt. Jackie Lowrimore Jr. about Tackett and learned he was being removed from the ROTC program.
Unsuccessful attempts have been made to contact Tackett to get him to return the items.
The charge carries a possible year in jail penalty and/or a fine of up to $5,000 and restitution. An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for Tackett with a $1,000 bond.
Assistant District Attorney David Pierce is prosecuting the case.
