Cherokee County employees will receive incentive awards for safety performances in 2009 after action taken Monday by the county board of commissioners.
The commissioners unanimously to adopted a resolution that will allow safety incentive awards of up to $250 per employee. District 3 Commissioner Mike Ballard said the amount each employee receives will be at the discretion of the office holders. The awards have been given for the past several years at the end of the calendar year.
The board also approved a bid of $32,000 from Texas Fire Equipment for a used pumper truck being lease-purchased by the Welling Volunteer Fire Department.
Tahlequah Fire Chief Ray Hammons was approved by the commission as a new member to the 911 Trust Board.
Marty Kimble and Ronnie Smith were approved as requesting officers for the Fire Department Tax Advisory Board. Larry Watts and Charlie Pass will be the receiving officers.
An agreement to work on Tommy Hammons’ property in District 1 was approved by the commissioners.
