Man charged with burglary and assaults

Arrest warrants were issued Friday for a Tahlequah area man charged with a burglary and two domestic assaults.

Justin Paul Cook, 24, was charged with breaking into Alana Taylor’s home Oct. 18. He allegedly ripped part of her clothing off of her and dragged her by the hair and punched her in the face.

Three days prior, prosecutors allege he assaulted Taylor. Both assaults led to domestic violence charges.

Cook’s other charge is first-degree burglary because Taylor was home at the time he broke into her residence.

Special District Judge Holli Wells signed no-bond warrants. Cook will be formally arraigned after his arrest on the charges that were filed after Tahlequah police took reports on the two incidents.

The first-degree burglary count carries a possible prison term of seven to 20 years.

The domestic abuse counts each carry possible jail terms of six months to a year and/or fines of up to $5,000.
