HSCC hosting animal clinic

The Humane Society of Cherokee County (HSCC) is sponsoring a spay/neuter clinic on Sunday, July 12, is available for both male and female cats, as well as a limited number of female dogs weighing no more than 35 pounds.

The clinic is open to pet owners who have a total household income of $25,000 or less per year. Cost to have animals spayed or neutered is based on a sliding scale, depending on annual income. Proof of income must be provided.

Elks Lodge planning fish fry

Tahlequah Elks Lodge will host a fish fry at the Cherokee County Community Building Thursday, July 16 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cost will be $6 per person, with drink and dessert included.

All proceeds will go toward two high school student scholarships for the 2009-’10 year.

Free movies shown at library

Free movies, free popcorn and free soda pop are on tap at the Tahlequah Public Library this summer.

Each Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m., the library will present a new-to-DVD movie.

Anyone who’s interested can call the library Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the title of next week’s movie.
