Commissioners complete year

Cherokee County commissioners met briefly in special session Wednesday morning at the courthouse for some housekeeping items.

The board of commissioners approved a list of unencumbered balances and reserve purchase orders. The action was necessary due to the start of the county’s fiscal year Wednesday. The unencumbered balances are in various county departments.

The reserve purchase orders are purchase orders that were obtained before the end of the fiscal year where the invoices have not been received to finalize the transaction.

The commissioners will meet in regular session Monday, July 6 at 9 a.m. in the second-floor conference room at the courthouse.
