A Cherokee County man on probation for drug possession can expect new charges leveled against him after his arrest Monday night by District Drug Task Force agents and sheriff’s deputies.
Gary D. Denny, 50, was arrested after giving authorities permission to search his residence. Chemicals and equipment consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine; a plastic bottle with a white chunk of sediment and clear liquid; and marijuana, were found inside the residence.
Camp fuel, liquid “Heet” and other items were seized from the residence, along with a white, powdery substance believed to be methamphetamine.
Authorities also found a police scanner and surveillance equipment at the Denny residence. The scanner was seized. All the confiscated items will be submitted to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation lab for analysis.
Denny was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center on charges of endeavoring to manufacture a controlled drug, possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of a scanner in the commission of a felony and possession of paraphernalia.
Records show Denny is on a deferred judgment until August on a possession of controlled drug with intent to distribute charge. The new charges are expected to be filed in Cherokee County District Court.
