Commissioners table bids on trailer
TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS — Bids from three companies for a walking floor refuse trailer were tabled Monday to allow Cherokee County commissioners time to evaluate the trailers.
The board opened bids from Wilkins Manufacturing of Stockton, Kan., Southwest Trailers and Equipment of Tulsa and Interstate Manufacturing of Rupert, Idaho. The bids range from $59,995 to $70,971.14.
The commission also approved resubmitting a claim for 4-Mile Road and Pecan Creek 2 with the condition that District 2 Commissioner Bobby Botts speak with Oklahoma Department of Transportation representatives about the matter.
Mike Kelly, of Kelly Engineering, said the claims were submitted to ODOT after the commissioners approved them, but ODOT misplaced them.
Botts said he had no problem paying the claims, but wanted to make certain they wouldn’t be paid twice.
A claim was approved for Combs Bridge in District 1 as well.
The board of commissioners also voted to approve payment of Cherokee County Detention Center invoices from the 2007-’08 fiscal year with 2008-’09 year funds.
Monthly reports from the CCDC, assessor, county clerk, court clerk, election board, health department, sheriff and treasurer were approved.
What’s next
The next regular meeting of the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners will be Monday, Dec. 1 at 9 a.m. in the second-floor conference room at the Cherokee County Courthouse.
