Gunshot death under investigation

Press staff reports

TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS — Tahlequah police officers were called to a residence Thursday night to investigate a shooting.

Neil Fagan, 52, was found on a bedroom floor with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the right side of his head. A .22 caliber handgun was on the bed to the left of the victim.

EMS arrived and declared Fagan dead, and detectives were called to investigate.

According to a report, family members said Fagal slept with the gun under his pillow. When Fagan was found on the bed, a family member moved the gun off his chest to check for a pulse. A family member’s boyfriend said he picked up Fagan and put him on the floor to begin CPR.

A medical examiner was notified.
