Cherokee County prosecutors have charged a Hulbert man with second-degree rape.
According to court documents, Coty Dean Marrs, 18, allegedly had sex with a 13-year-old girl on or about April 7. The girl is identified in court documents by initials. Marrs was 18 at the time the incident occurred.
Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Coons and CCSO Investigator Becky Thompson are listed as state witnesses.
Assistant District Attorney Angela Jones is prosecuting the case. Second-degree rape is a felony punishable by imprisonment from one to 15 years.
