Two men entered plea agreements with prosecutors Thursday in exchange for prison sentences on kidnapping charges.
Bobby Gene Bechtol, 43, and Harley Wayne Scott, 23, were each facing two counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of kidnapping.
As part of their plea agreements, both weapons-related charges were dismissed, along with one of the kidnapping charges.
Bechtol pleaded guilty on the remaining charge of kidnapping, in exchange for eight years in the Department of Corrections, followed by seven years of probation. Scott pleaded no contest on the same charge and was given six years in prison, followed by four years of probation.
Prosecutors alleged the men held two girls inside a home against their will last April in an attempt to get money from them.
Police said the girls apparently owed the men a small amount of money, and the men made the girls strip from their clothes because they didn’t believe them when they said they didn’t have cash.
