TAHLEQUAH —
An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for a Tahlequah man charged with felony intimidation of a witness.
Prosecutors allege Chuck Allen Eastham, 37, threatened to discredit Oklahoma Scenic Rivers Commission Ranger Stephanie Stephens as untruthful.
Stephens is a state witness in a pending case against Eastham, filed earlier this year.
Eastham allegedly told Stephens he would “hate to bring up” that she lied about him in a case filed last year. He asked Stephens to help him in his current case, and she said she would help if possible, because she and Eastham have known each other for several years.
Stephens said Eastham has his facts confused on the 2009 case, and that she didn’t lie about him.
He allegedly told her he knew she had to lie to keep her job, an affidavit states.
The affidavit also states Eastham and OSRC rangers have had a “strained relationship.”
Eastham owns Falcon Floats, a commercial float operation.
Eastham was charged in June with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and single counts of feloniously pointing a firearm, malicious injury to property and violation of the Scenic Rivers Act. He is free on bond on those charges.
Special District Judge Sandy Crosslin set a $5,000 bond on the new count.
