TAHLEQUAH —
A Stilwell man was flown to a Tulsa hospital Wednesday afternoon after the motorcycle he was driving was struck by a car on the eastern edge of Tahlequah’s city limits.
Donald Hensley, 45, was traveling east on Downing when his motorcycle was hit, according to officers.
Tahlequah Police Patrolman Christopher Davis said information he gathered from a witness at the scene, and from the driver of the car that struck the bike, indicates the car was stopped at a stop sign but then pulled into the path of Hensley’s motorcycle.
Davis said neither the driver of the car – Eldon Lee Colston, 28, of Stilwell – nor a passenger, 22-year-old Alan Linde of Tahlequah, were injured.
Hensley was flown by EagleMed to a Tulsa hospital shortly after the collision. Officers did not know Hensley’s medical condition Wednesday night.
Tahlequah officers, Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies, Oklahoma Scenic Rivers Commission rangers, Tahlequah Fire Department and Tahlequah City Hospital EMS responded to the scene of the crash, which occurred before 3 p.m.
