Man lands in trouble for gun shooting under the influence

TAHLEQUAH — A Tahlequah man was arrested by sheriffs’ deputies Saturday on complaints of discharging of a firearm while intoxicated.

Gary S. Graham, 41, was taken into custody without incident near a horse barn on his propertym after deputies with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s office were dispatched to check out the reports.

Two witnesses reported a maroon Dodge Stratus almost struck them near Workman’s Department Store.

Afterward, they said, they followed the car to a  driveway that was later identified as Graham’s residence.

The witnesses reported hearing two gunshots while they were parked on the road outside the house.

When law enforcement officials made contact with Graham in his horse barn, Graham admitted to firing two shotgun rounds in the air.

The shotgun, which was found in a bathroom in the barn, still contained one shell.
