Two local law enforcement officers brought home top honors recently from the Association of Oklahoma Narcotics Enforcers annual conference.
TPD Officer Elden Graves and his K-9 partner, Tedy, were selected as the Region 2 K-9 Team of the Year for the second consecutive year and Sheriff’s Investigator Casey Baker was chosen as the Region 2 Officer of the Year. This is the second consecutive year that a representative of the District 27 Drug Task Force was selected to receive that honor.
“I’m very proud of the work Elden and Tedy have done with the drug task force to battle the drug problem in this area,” Police Chief Clay Mahaney said Monday. “This is truly an honor for Elden’s hard work, dedication and long hours.”
Mahaney said the fact that Graves and Tedy have brought the honor home the last two years is further testament to the work the team has done.
Sheriff Norman Fisher was equally proud of Baker’s accomplishment to be chosen Officer of the Year.
“Casey’s a dedicated officer and he has worked countless hours with the drug task force,” Fisher said. “He and the rest of the men work long hours to bring those who violate the drug laws to justice.”
Baker is one of two men Fisher currently has assigned to the DTF.
