Girl assaulted at Tahlequah skate park

TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police are continuing to investigate a weekend assault at the city skate park that landed a girl in the hospital.

Paramedics were dispatched to the skate park just before 4 p.m. Sunday to treat a girl who had suffered a severe cut to her throat. Witnesses said two boys, ages 17 and 16, were involved in an altercation that apparently targeted the 16-year-old boy’s sister. Police are still trying to determine what led to the confrontation.

The 16-year-old boy’s sister was transported by ambulance to a Tahlequah hospital before she was flown by helicopter to Tulsa. She has reportedly since been released from the hospital.

Police said the 17-year-old boy was arrested for the assault.

Officers were able to recover a knife the 17-year-old boy reportedly threw onto the roof of a building near the park. Officers said marijuana was also recovered during the investigation.

What do you think of Sen. McCain's proposal to allow cable TV channels to be sold a la carte (individually, rather than in bundles with a lot of channels no one wants)? Bear in mind some less popular channels could go by the wayside with no bundling support, and that while overall packages should theoretically decrease in cost, individual channels might cost more.

Strongly in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat opposed to a la carte.
