TAHLEQUAH —
A Tahlequah woman is facing charges after she allegedly stabbed a man with a knife during an argument.
Clarissa Louise Walker, 35, is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon while in the presence of a child. Prosecutors allege Walker stabbed Hubbard Stanley, the father of her 3-year-old daughter, in the forearm with a knife, while their child was watching the incident.
Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies were called to a local hospital Feb. 26 to visit with Stanley, who said he and Walker were arguing. Stanley said he tried to get around Walker to leave the house when she stabbed him in the left forearm.
Stanley was then picked up by family members and taken to the emergency room, where he was treated for a cut that was several inches long.
Deputies also recovered the knife allegedly used in the attack and logged it as evidence.
Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in the presence of a child is punishable by up to 10 years in prison or a year in the county jail.
