BA pair arrested on drug charges

TAHLEQUAH — Two Broken Arrow residents were arrested over the weekend after deputies acted on a tip about a possible narcotics transaction.

Sheriff’s Deputy Dexter Scott said he received information Saturday about a vehicle on South State Highway 82 that might have been involved in a drug deal. Scott said he attempted to locate the vehicle and later stopped the driver inside the city of Tahlequah. Scott said he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and the two people inside – Victor Fuson, 23, and Kristy Ladawn Muck, 33 – were both shaking and couldn’t sit still.

Fuson allegedly told Scott he didn’t have insurance on the vehicle when the deputy began to check his information.

Tahlequah Patrolman Cory Keele arrived and ran his canine officer around the vehicle. Scott said the dog alerted on the passenger’s side, and officers found a clear, plastic bag with a crystal-like substance near Muck’s purse.

They also discovered a can with a crystal-like substance and a straw with white residue between the driver’s seat and center console.

Fuson and Muck both refused to speak with officers about the items inside the car, according to Scott’s report of the incident.

The crystal-like substances in the vehicle field tested positive as methamphetamine, according to Scott.

Fuson was booked for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of paraphernalia, and no insurance, while Muck was booked for possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
