Two hurt in area car crash

TAHLEQUAH —

Two people were seriously injured in an early morning crash Saturday on the State Highway 51 spur, at the intersection of the bypass and Vinita.
Tahlequah police officers responded to the scene and called for medical personnel and Tahlequah fire fighters. All four lanes of the bypass were shut down for more than hour as emergency responders cleared the scene.
Tahlequah Fire Chief Ray Hammons, who responded to the crash, said it appeared one vehicle lost control and traveled head-on into a northbound vehicle. The drivers of both vehicles were pinned and had to be extricated by fire fighters.
EagleMed and Tulsa LifeFlight both landed at the scene and transported the injured drivers to Tulsa hospitals. Hammons said he would classify their status as being in no better than serious condition.
Neither vehicle was transporting passengers.
Hammons said he could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle that apparently lost control and drove head-on into the second vehicle.
Fire fighters performed several wash-downs at the scene, and helped Tahlequah police with a scene re-creation as part of the investigation, Hammons said.
Names of the injured drivers were unavailable Saturday.

Poll

What do you think of Sen. McCain's proposal to allow cable TV channels to be sold a la carte (individually, rather than in bundles with a lot of channels no one wants)? Bear in mind some less popular channels could go by the wayside with no bundling support, and that while overall packages should theoretically decrease in cost, individual channels might cost more.

Strongly in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat opposed to a la carte.
