TAHLEQUAH —

A Cherokee County woman was arrested Thursday afternoon after an alleged shooting incident south of Tahlequah, in the Stone Chapel area off of State Highway 82.

Robin Gay Young, 47, was arrested by Sheriff’s Deputy Brent Bardell on a charge of reckless conduct with a firearm after deputies responded to the shots fired call.

Formal charges are expected to be filed in district court against Young, who allegedly admitted the shooting. Young told deputies she shot four times in the direction of her brother-in-law, Randall Young. He was not hit by the gunfire.

Robin will be formally arraigned after charges are filed. She was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center after the incident.
