MUSKOGEE – A Park Hill man has pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm in connection with a drug-trafficking crime in federal court.
William Eric Creech, 22, was charged after a June 3 stop by Tahlequah police.
Creech had in his possession listed chemicals used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine and a Bryco 9mm Jennings pistol and several rounds of ammunition, said U.S. Attorney Sheldon Sperling.
NSU police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms were also involved in the investigation.
U.S. Magistrate Steven Schreder accepted the plea and ordered a pre-sentence investigation. Sentencing will be scheduled after its completion.
Creech remains in custody of the U.S. Marshal Service, awaiting sentencing.
The statutory range of punishment is up to life in prison and/or up to $250,000 in fines.
A preliminary calculation of the sentencing guidelines projects an advisory sentencing range of 60 months in prison.
