HULBERT — The Town of Hulbert board of trustees approved a request for payment from Mehlburger/Brawley for engineering services on the raw water intake project in the amount of $1,229 at their regularly scheduled meeting Thursday evening.
Other items on the town agenda included discussion of the police budget. With the town’s police force down by two positions, it leveled the budget even, according to town clerk Leona Welch.
Welch said a few residents in Hulbert appeared before the Public Works Authority board to discuss possible rate changes for the gas services, but no action was taken.
The board also approved payment to the Rural Water District #11 for water purchased.
Other issues discussed was finding a solution to a flooded manhole in the alley between the Baptist church and the auditorium. Welch said the church did some landscaping and covered the manhole inadvertently.
“We took care of it,” she said. “But we are sending a letter to the church notifying them they need to fix it.”
