TAHLEQUAH —
This weekend could be a shopper’s paradise in downtown Tahlequah as three events try to drive more business to the main street community.
Organizers and participating vendors are preparing for the first Vintage Fair on the Square, which will coincide with downtown merchants offering sidewalk sales, and a citywide garage sale at Norris Park.
Tahlequah Main Street Association Director Drew Haley said the Vintage Fair on the Square event was suggested by local business owners.
“It’s namely for vintage dealers or vendors that deal in antiques,” said Haley. “It’s the first year, a new idea, and we hope to get more people downtown.”
Vintage Fair on the Square will line both sides of East Delaware Street, between Muskogee and Water avenues, from 3-8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
Haley said vendors who deal in vintage or antique items, and who are interested in participating, still have time to apply. Cost is $25.
Haley said the first citywide garage sale to be hosted in downtown Tahlequah will be in Norris Park, beginning at 10 a.m. Friday.
“Booth space is available for individuals, groups and nonprofits,” said Haley. “If your organization is looking for a fundraiser, you might want to consider joining us at the citywide garage sale.”
Cost for the garage sale is also $25 per booth.
