Home repair fraud charges filed

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County prosecutors have filed charges against a Terlton man accused of home repair fraud.

An arrest warrant was issued this week for Gary Richard Hillman, 57. According to court documents, Hillman was hired by Jerry McDaniel to do some construction work on McDaniel’s residence earlier this year. McDaniel reportedly paid Hillman twice – once in April and again in May – but Hillman never completed any work for McDaniel.

McDaniel told police he spoke to Hillman several times, and also exchanged text messages with him, but that the conversations still sparked no results.

Home repair fraud is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.

Where do you think bicycle trails are most needed in Cherokee County?

In the downtown corridor.
Not downtown, because it would be too congested, but on peripheral streets, like Bluff, Downing and College, and Muskogee but not downtown.
On the rural highways mainly in recreational areas, like Highways 10 and 82.
Only in special areas, like parks.
I do not think Cherokee County needs any (or more) bike trails.
