TAHLEQUAH —
Tahlequah police detectives are seeking information from the public after a man found injured and unresponsive in an alley died at a hospital.
Officers received a 911 call at about 1:40 a.m. Tuesday. The caller told dispatchers a woman was on the ground on College Court, an alley running parallel to Muskogee and College avenues.
Police arrived and found a man, Randy C. Crowe, 23, unresponsive in the 500 block of College Court, between Ross and South streets, about a block south of Sequoyah Elementary School.
Tahlequah Police Department Public Information Officer Brad Robertson said Crowe had suffered a head injury and was bleeding. He was taken to a Tahlequah hospital and was later flown to a Tulsa medical center, where he was pronounced dead.
Crowe’s body was sent to the state medical examiner’s office to help detectives determine his cause of death, Robertson said.
“We’re still early in the investigation, and we’re requesting assistance from anyone in the public who has first-hand knowledge of what might have occurred, or anyone who saw [Crowe] on the night of Dec. 17, into the early morning hours of Dec. 18,” said Robertson.
Anyone with first-hand knowledge of the situation is asked to call Tahlequah Detective Jeff Haney at (918) 456-8801. Robertson said callers can remain anonymous.
