TAHLEQUAH —
Cherokee County prosecutors have filed felony charges against a woman accused of smoking marijuana with her teenaged stepdaughter and giving her prescription medications.
Tammy Anno Lee, 53, is charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of minors.
Investigators said a 14-year-old girl told a Help-In-Crisis representative she had used marijuana with Lee. The girl alleged she’d stolen some marijuana from Lee, and eventually smoked the substance with her stepmother using the same smoking device.
The girl reportedly described that she would break down the marijuana buds so Lee could roll the pot into cigarettes.
Lee also allegedly became concerned about the girl being depressed and gave her a package of Zoloft, which the girl used daily for approximately a month without seeing a doctor.
The girl also told investigators Lee had given her Xanax.
Family members of the girl became suspicious when her attitude began to change, a report filed in the case indicates.
Each felony charge is punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 and up to a year in prison.
