A fight among three women at a local restaurant Wednesday evening prompted the arrest of one woman with a pending first-degree manslaughter charge against her.
Janet Kay Ingram, 46, was apprehended by Sgt. Randy Tanner for being in actual physical control of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol after he found her sitting in her vehicle. She was booked into he Cherokee County Detention Center and later released on bond.
Court records show Ingram is awaiting a trial on a manslaughter count, filed Sept. 21, 2006. That charge was filed after Ingram was involved in a crash Aug. 3, 2006, on Indian Road that killed James H. Caldwell.
Ingram has been bound over for trial on the charge. A September trial date has been set.
Assistant District Attorney Josh King said Thursday prosecutors intend to file a motion to have Ingram’s bond revoked based on the new alcohol-related arrest. The new charge is also expected to be filed in district court.
Ingram will be arraigned on the new charge after it is filed.
