The red light runners

The red light runners

Editor, Daily Press:

I would like to ask the Highway Patrol and other law enforcement to set up a “sting” operation.

This is to stop “red light runners” out by Wamart. At these two intersections, you wait on your green light for at least four or five red light runners before you can go.

You’re lucky if your green light doesn’t turn yellow!

Yesterday we started at Goingsnake and Muskogee Avenue to go to Reasor’s. At every intersection, there was a red light runner.

I guess yellow light means put the pedal to the metal.

Speaking of Highway Patrol, they eat at a place that lets its customers use the Town Branch creek as an ashtray for their cigarette butts and packages.

Our city councilors say they care and they want tourists to come to Tahlequah. Well, it’s not safe to drive, and the trash is never cleaned up or stopped.

No one wants to keep the weeds out of the sidewalk on Muskogee Avenue between the bricks that people pay to put their names on.

The street I live on, Goingsnake, is not zoned for commercial use, but they do it.

They don’t need a seat belt or tag, so can I use the streets in Tahlequah for my ATVs and heavy equipment to get to my hunting spot? I should, since I see it done every day.

I don’t think our city council cares, so if you want to care, we need council members who are not too old to get out and look at “their” city and do something.

Yes, I will stop at the red lights on my ATV.
