Soon the jolly old elf will be making those lists and checking them twice, and Cherokee County kids don’t want to be left out in the cold!
As always, the Daily Press has agreed to act as a clearinghouse for letters to Santa Claus. But it’s important that kids sending in their wish lists do so by deadline. After all, we need time to forward those letters to the North Pole!
Make sure we have your letters in our office by Friday, Dec. 18 at 5 p.m. They can be dropped by our office at 106 W. Second (we open at 9 a.m. weekdays), either individually or by class in school, or mailed to us at Letters to Santa, Tahlequah Daily Press, P.O. Box 888, Tahlequah, Okla. 74465. Internet-savvy kids can also e-mail letters to news@tahlequahdailypress.com, as we just happen to have a secret e-mail address to which we can forward stuff.
Letters to Santa will be published regularly beginning now and through Christmas Eve. Letters will be published pretty much as we get them; we’d hate to second-guess anyone’s requests. Children whose teachers submit lists as a class will be identified as such. We do reserve the right to withhold letters that could result in legal problems.
So, boys and girls, give it a little thought, write it down, and get it to us. We wouldn’t want to keep Santa waiting!
And for you parents whose small fry are too young to read this – well, you know what to do.
