TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS — LOCUST GROVE – A Locust Grove woman was listed in fair condition Monday in a Tulsa hospital after a crash on U.S. Highway 412, just east of Locust Grove.
Norma Mern Brown, 65, suffered head injuries and was being treated at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa. Brown was driving a 2001 Nissan SUV. Her passenger, 9-year-old Justin E. Nelson, also of Locust Grove, was not injured.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports state Brown was eastbound on U.S. 412 when she failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the left side of the roadway and hit an embankment before rolling onto the passenger side.
Neither Brown nor Nelson were wearing seat belts, and it was raining at the time of the crash, which was reported at 3:50 p.m.
It was investigated by OHP Trooper Shawn Cummings.
