Sallisaw pair jailed in ongoing drug probe

TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS — SALLISAW – Two Sallisaw residents were jailed Tuesday morning as part of an ongoing investigation into the illegal sale of controlled prescription pills in Sequoyah County.

District 27 Drug Task Force agents served a search warrant on the home of Michael Dennis Kutil and Cathy Lynn Dill. Arrest warrants had also been issued for Dill and Kutil after DTF agents made undercover purchases of controlled prescription pills from them. Agents found more than 400 pills of various prescription drugs that were seized along with cash and a vehicle.

Kutil, 57, and Dill, 55, were booked on charges of possession of a controlled drug in an unapproved container, possession of a police scanner in the commission of a felony, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. They were also booked for a count of distribution of a controlled drug listed on their arrest warrants. Bonds were set at $26,500 each.

DTF agents working the case said it is evidence of an increase in the illegal sale of controlled prescription drugs in the area. There has also been an increase in the number of deaths to overdose of prescription drugs.
