Three killed in area crash

COWETA –– Three Wagoner County men died at the scene of a single car crash Thursday night just north of Coweta.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports state Brandon Scott Looper, 19, Matthew Ennes, 25, and Brandon Hargrove, 20, died at the scene, but the cause of their deaths is under investigation. Looper and Ennes have Coweta addresses and Hargrove is from Wagoner. Looper was driving a 1992 Chevrolet Corsica a mile north of Coweta when the car entered a curve at a high rate of speed and ran off the left side of the road.

Reports state Looper overcorrected to the right and vaulted into a creek bed and rolled end-over-end, coming to rest on the car’s top in 18 inches of water.

A third passenger, Sarah Morrow, 21, of Mannford was listed in stable condition at St. Francis Hospital with head, arm and leg injuries. She was taken to the Tulsa hospital by an air ambulance.

Morrow was the only person wearing a seat belt. The crash occurred at 10:15 p.m. Thursday. Looper was pinned until he was extricated by Coweta firefighters.

The crash was investigated by OHP Trooper Scott Miller, with assistance by OHP Troopers Chris Herd and Gary Fears, Coweta police and firefighters and Wagoner County sheriff’s deputies. The cause of the crash is listed as unsafe speed on a curve.
