BREAKING: Nobles to take hoops job at Porter

Bill Nobles has been a fixture on the Sequoyah bench since the 2003-2004 season.

That'll all change in November.

The longtime basketball coach of the Lady Indians is leaving Sequoyah to become the girls hoops coach at Porter.

"It's official," Nobles told the Tahlequah Daily Press on Monday afternoon. "I'm resigning [at Sequoyah] and accepting the position at Porter."

During his time at Sequoyah, Nobles was 191-56. He led the Lady Indians to state championships in 2005, 2006 and 2007. In fact, Sequoyah posted a perfect mark (27-0) in 2007.

"It's been a great run," Nobles said. "I'm just tremendously thankful for the opportunity I was given at Sequoyah."

Nobles only endured one losing season at Sequoyah, posting a 11-12 mark in 2010-2011.

This past season, Nobles' team went 20-8 and was eliminated from postseason contention in the area tournament at Fort Gibson.

See more on Nobles' departure in Tuesday's Tahlequah Daily Press.

What do you think of Sen. McCain's proposal to allow cable TV channels to be sold a la carte (individually, rather than in bundles with a lot of channels no one wants)? Bear in mind some less popular channels could go by the wayside with no bundling support, and that while overall packages should theoretically decrease in cost, individual channels might cost more.

Strongly in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat in favor of a la carte.
Somewhat opposed to a la carte.
